it's been a while

Well, where to start. I didn't intend to be away for such a long time but the last few months have been quite challenging to say the least.

Not much sewing has happened (although I did manage to finish a Christmas table topper).

I spent August in France with my family and it was wonderful to be together again. 5 weeks of fantastic weather and loads of yummy food made it very difficult to go back to rainy Ireland!!!

September came and went, as October and we are now heading for winter and Christmas!!!

As a family we'll be facing some difficult decisions over the next few weeks. Some that I will share with you and hope for some advice. At the moment I am just grateful to have a loving husband, a fantastic son and amazing family and friends.

No picture because our laptop died but hopefully soon.

Hope all is well in blog land, I missed you!

Baby it's cold outside!!!

Hey there, hope all is well with all of you. We are just back from a small break in the south of France.
With all the rain we 've had in May, I decided that enough was enough and booked this little trip hoping to warm up my auld bones and soaked as much sun as possible. Well little did I know that it wasn't meant to be!!!
You would think that going to the south of france you would be guaranted sunshine and warm temp. Well no,you would be wrong and more wrong. It was the worst weather they had experienced for the last 10 weeks!!!! I know they needed water as the heat apparently had been unbearable ( wish I could vouched for this). Anyway it rained the whole time we were there; it even snowed in the Alps and the Pyreenes!!!
The worst part: Ireland had a heat wave!!talk about bad luck. Of course as we landed back in Dublin and made our way back up to Donegal the rain started again and it hasn't stopped.!! I feel like crying!!!

Yesterday was particularly bad (weather wise) and we spent the day doing this:

Jack's new addiction!!! I suppose it could be worst. But I wish somebody would notify Mother Nature that it is now summer in Ireland and that we have enough of this rain and low temperature.

Right I am away to work on my Dear Jane.

Hi, hope all well with all my blogland friend. I know it has been a while but I have had few problems with computer. It hadn't been working well for the last few months. Unfortunately I did nothing to fix it and as you can imagine it kind of died!! the truth is that is was riddled with virus and despite the best effort from my computer geek neighbour it is still not working right. So that's the reason why I haven't been around lately!

I opened my google reader yesterday and there are over 1000+ posts to catch up on. It is overwhelming!! part of me wants to read them all to catch on what has been happenning, the other part just want to click the "read button".

Jack at a recent birthday party. He didn't want to wear the party hat and foud this tiara instead!!!

On top of that my phone decided to play up last week end so I had to get a new one. Good news ii it is an I phone 4!!! (Yeah) Bad news I have to enter manually all my phone numbers as you can transfer them through the sim card. Apparently the sim cards are different!!!

Gosh I hate technology!!! It make me feel so helpless at time. So that what I'll be doing this week end.

I made this bag using the pattern from Kim & Kris at the Diy Dish . It was so quick and easy to make.

Well actually the hardest was to pick the fabric (I know it is from moda but can't remember the name. sorry)!!!

I think this is exactly what I need now that spring is here! Well it was here up until yesterday. Now the rain has decided to make a comeback!!!Typical!!

Hope you had a great week end. It was very busy for us.

Well first we inflicted our bodies with a sugar overdose!

yeah I love kids ' birthday party.(Jack was invited to his second birthday party in 3 weeks)

-It gives me permission to eat as much sweets, cakes...as I want ;)))

-Plus it would be rude not too. .

-And I really could live with myself with all the waste and leftovers!!

I love scarf. I didn't always. But since moving to Ireland well it has become one of my must have fashion item. I tried on an old t-shirt ( ok yes I got it from the rag bag! ) I just didn't want to ruin one of my great t-shirt!!! (like the one on the picture)

Anyway it took me less than 5 minutes to do this and that included looking for a full size t-shirt out of the rag bag.

I am going to try in different colours. I love it Try it. So easy, quick.

On a sunny day....

On a sunny day there is nothing better than go outside, soak up the sun and fill our lungs with a bit of fresh air!!!Today is a gorgeous day in Donegal and that's exactly what we did.

Jack and I went for a long walk, we didn't go far but we took our time to enjoy the sun.
Jack picked some stones and we found a caterpillar trying to cross the road. So we watched him for about 15 minutes. Jack was amazed. I know it is pretty amazing for a three year old!!!

It is a big change from the last few days. Yes we had snow again and rain and more rain. Oh I forgot we had a lot of wind too!!

I hope that the weather stays that way for St Patrick day. We are hoping to go a parade. We haven't decided where we are going yet, we might even manage to do a couple!!!

A couple of weeks ago we started planting seeds for "le jardin potager" I can't wait to get started properly. Yes spring is here and it is so nice to see!!!! ( Our courgettes are doing great)

I am just back from visiting my friend Marlene, her husband Padraig, eldest boy Aorelian and her twins Julien and Louis !!!( I have some pictures on another camera so I'll post some later)
We had a great time with them as usual too short. But I'll soon be back again for the christening. Yes I am going to be godmother again. Yep that will be the fourth time.And could be fifth time if her brother can't make it over. So I'll be both boys' godmother. so excited!!!!

They are not identical twin so I made the same quilt but in different colours and I quilted them differently too.

January/ February goals

Idon't recall setting myself goals for January/February but I managed to finish a quilt for my goddaughter Ellen's 1st Birthday. I finished this morning at 1am!!! Her birthday is tomorrow but as it is her brother's confirmation today, there will be a joined party. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend as Jack is still no better. Actually I think he is worst.

I am quite happy with this quilt. It isn't a complicated design but it did take quite a bit of time to stitch the top and I spend nearly 4hours quilting it yesterday.

The pictures don't do it justice. It is a lovely quilt. I have to do a label for it, but I am waiting on my Pfaff to come back from the shop. So I will add it later.
I also finished two baby quilt for my friend's twins. No pictures because my camera ran out of battery!!
And I also made the lovely embroidery gift for my friend alison.
I have been busy!!!

Chocolate chip Pancakes

Well jack is sick again so for the last three days he has been at home. And unfortunately I haven't been able to do much or go out of the house. And I am starting to suffer from cabin fever .

This morning I needed something to cheer me up a bit. So between attending my wee patient and cleaning, washing..., I managed to check a couple of blogs and find this great recipe for chocolate chip pancakes. I quickly checked that I had everything required and set to make them. OMG they were delicious and I may have had 4 or more.

I never made them before but I will make them again. Jack even managed to eat two!

With this recipe, I made over 20 pancakes. So there are a lot leftovers. Though I doubt they will last that long!!!

Check Da's blog Kitchen Corners, she has great recipes!!!plus I love her pictures especially the one of Hawaii. I am so jealous, I wish I could go there!! Especially as it is raining here. Again.

This is for my friend Alison's birthday, a significant birthday I shall add!!. She is a great quilter so I couldn't make her a quilt! But I still wanted to make her something so I made this. I am really proud of this. As I hate working with small pieces. I just don't have the patience! But it didn't take me long and I think this is just the beginning of many more to come. I had a picture of the back as well but blogger for some reason refuse to put it up. I know the pictures don't do it justice. I am going to get my new camera next week. A lot of people recommended canon 500d. After checking with a photographer ( he is also teaches classes) he did recommend it as well as the newer version the 550D and some lens to. A big thanks to Sarah ( from Modern country Style)for her help too!!

And A big thank you to Jack For helping me!!!

We are going out tonight to celebrate the big birthday just the girls.Should be fun! Don't know how I will feel tomorrow though. Have a nice week end!

I won!!!

Well I just had to post about it. I won € 815,000! I know this is amazing. I am already making plans on how to spend it!! Yeah right. I didn't win though but wish I did. It could have helped us . Yep big time.
Anyway I didn't but I still managed to get a letter sent to me from Portugal. Now that intrigued me because although I do know a lot of people around the world and that well I am also well - know!!! (I feel my head is getting bigger ;))) ) Anyway I got this letter announcing that I won the "international lottery commission" and that of course in order to get my money I needed to send them my details and especially my bank details!!!

I was genuinely shocked because they had all my personal details. Now if you knew me you would know that I burn every piece of paper with our details on it in case of fraud.My husband think I am odd. But I think I mentioned that before !!!

Did this ever happened to you? I kind of feel violated. As Jack would say "me no like it" Makes you wonder what else they know about me. Things like I like pyjama day's and yes I would have at least one a week . I am a homebird, yes I love being at home in my safe environment. That's the Cancer in me.
I think that's enough about me. I wonder what they are going to do about this information now.

On another note, I also have been thinking of changing the name of my blog? I have been reflecting on a lot of things recently on what I want or where do I see myself going. Yeah I am doing some soul searching and it is taking me to weird and wonderful places but really mainly weird. Must be due to the pyjama's days!

Anyway I realised that "you get what you put in" so I decided to work on this blog thing.
When I started it I didn't know what this was about and what I wanted out of it. I still don't know really know so please bear with me for the next few weeks, months, years??!! With your help I will get there.
One sure thing is that there will be more photographs. I decided to take a photography course because I am kind of crap at it. That's part of my "fun" for this year. So I need your advice, what kind of camera do I need? I heard that canon 500D is good? Is it?

I just had to post this because he is so funny now and his speech is coming along great since the operation!!!
Plus if I don't make a note of all his milestones and funny things he does or says, I don't remember them!!!

MUF's and Word up

My husband doesn't understand me, between fat quarters, wips, ufos... he doesn't know what language I am talking! and now Kelly has found a new word MUF's. This is such a great idea, i am going to enjoy sewing without any pressure. Afterall sewing is a hobby not work so it should be enjoyed. i feel better already!!

Yes, another great idea from Kelly from Charming Chatter. I have to say that I love the idea . Our next theme is

The word we will pick must be reflected in the things we will be doing in 2011.

Well I knew exactly what my word would be. It is the first time I didn't have to think for what seems like forever i.e my blog name for example. So my word is FUN. Yes I want to have a lot of FUN in 2011.

I have spent too much time being serious. Well things are about to change!!!Don't know if my husband can handle it though ;)))

New Skills

I always wanted to learn to sew, but never did it at school and my mum was always so busy working that she never show me or my sister.
I always admired my grandmothers for their knitting and crochet skills. I tried knitting but it didn't work out that well. That was about 15 years ago. Unfortunately both my grandmothers died a few years and with them their "savoir-faire". I decided that this year I would give it a go again, as well as embroidery.
Well Mollie has answered my prayers with her embroidery basic series. I really can't wait to start. I know I can do it this time!Wish me luck ;)

The joy of potty training

Well the time had come to start potty training. I must say I did put it off. I hate every minute of it, although I didn't like changing nappies, this new stage of jack's life isn't my favourite.
We started last monday because he is not at the creche. The first two days ended up in disaster and I nearly gave in into putting the nappy back on. the poor wee child kept telling me his "pee-pee was broken"!!!
No more accidents since but I am constently putting in on the toilet,even though he keeps telling me that he doesn't need to go but I just can't trust him!!!!! He is back at the creche on wednesday and i don't know if the girls will spend as much time as me putting him on the toilet. Well probably not let's face it they have another 20 kids to look after.
So I am now off to buy more pants because although I am super organised Santa only brought six!

2011

I started 3 days ago to write this post and this is my third attempt. I can't explain why I keep deleting every word I type. My husband tells me that I am an odd perfectionist!!! I am not sure what he means by that and I really don't think that I want to know either.

Anyway I decided that 2011 will be our year.I am not sure what we will do or where but I have finally decided to take chances and stop being safe. If there is such a thing. I want to say NO more often. if you are a women, mum, daughter, wife... you know what I mean by that.
I also decided that I will be more positive ( going to be hard) and only focus on the good things.

I am not asking for much, am I?!!!

Anyway I hope that 2010 was a good year for you but really, really hope that 2011 will be even better.

Sorry there hasn't been much activity on my blog. I had so much to do before Christmas. The snow didn't help either!!!
But I made it to France and I am now enjoying some quality time with my family. I doubt there will be any more post before the end of the year.

I don't know about you but I have been spoiled!Kim from Kim Sherrod Studio sent me the most beautiful mug rug and a candle mat.
I didn't get a chance yet to make a mug rug but now I don't have to!!!

She also made me the loveliest candle mat, although I actually use it for my Snowmen!

I have to share this with all the mums on blog land. I was just browsing the net and I found the best advent calendar idea. This year Jack has started to understand was Santa is all about and I am looking forward to do some activities with him. I am struggling to find new ideas plus I didn't want to stuff the advent calendar with chocolate and other useless things.
Well Nicole aka the activity mom has created the perfect advent calendar.

Christmas!

We are snowed in! yes we are and it is great! I love the snow, plus it is cozy and warm inside by the fire.
We started to decorate the house, the tree is up. I know it is a bit early yet but did I mention that we are snowed in so we had to entertain ourselves. Jack loved it. It is the first year that he is starting to understand what christmas is all about! Looking forward to Christmas this year.

I am ashamed to see that my last post was on 31th October. that's nearly a month!!!

But of course I have a good excuse :).

At the beginning of November my sister announced that she was getting married. We were delighted, finally a good news ( my grandad died at the beginning of October). Next she told us that the wedding was on 12th November! well we were all very surprised. So many things to do, organise....

I decided to go home and surprised her. She didn't ask me to come as she knew it was last minute and that we are all going home at christmas. And as Stephen isn't working we are finding it quite difficult at the moment. But She is my one and only sister and she will only get married once!!!

Anyway I decided to go over with Jack and surprised them. What a surprise! she cried so much that she made me cry too! The wedding was on the friday and we went over on the thursday and back to Ireland on the monday. This was a flying visit! We are still wrecked with the travelling but it was so worth it!

This is my sister Audrey, her husband Manu and their daughter Mélyne on their wedding day!

It was lovely to be home but I was also glad to be back to my other home and to see my husband!

Back Home
Now that I am back I have been a bit busy. I made this bag, actually I made two my neighbour sold one of them!

Yes it is made with French General- I love that fabric and not because there is "French" in its name!!!

Secret Santa
I also worked on my Secret Santa, it will be ready to be posted monday. No I didn't leave it to the last minute but I changed my mind so many times. It is so hard to decide and make sure she will like it.

Not finished yet i have to add a few things to it!

UFO's

I also started on some of my UFO's. Four years ago I started making a tweed quilt. I bought the tweed and thread ( you need a stronger thread), cut my fabric and put it back in the bag!!! I always wanted to make a tweed quilt i just love that material and perfect for this time of the year ( yes it is cold and snowing). So i started again and managed to put all five strips together. next I need to embelish it. I need to find a nice backing for it.

It doesn't look like much at the moment but just wait and see!.

I am also working on my Snowbound Block, I am a bit behind but hope to catch up by next wee.

So for my November/ December Goal ?I hope to have the tweed quilt and the snowbound quilt done.
I decided against making a quilt for Ellen my godchild for Christmas, I will make it for her birthday on 27th February. It will be her first so it will be a nice present. I know what I am going to make and I have the fabric so hopefully it will come together quite quickly.

Well tthat was a long post for me. Will try to make it shorter next time!

1- I hate what I do for a living but I am good at it!
2- Once told people assume I am boring like my job
3- Worst my work collegues are BORING
4- I aspire to do so much more

Nobody is perfect

What a week it has been! I was busy i was boderline stressed! not good! but i had a lot of fun along the way.
Tuesday night my friends Gavin and Dearbhla who have been living in Spain for the last 5 years came for diner and we had a great night. it was a bit difficult to get up the next day!

On thursday stephen was off so we decided to get some christmas shopping done. Yes i know it is way too early to think about it but we got into a panic mode when everybody around us told us they had already started. So off we went with the best intention, unfortunately we didn't buy a thing it was a bit too overwhelming. all the toys! so we are going to leave it for while!!!

Last night I was invited to my neighboor's house for a girly diner. We had a great time and I ate way too much!

In between all of this I managed to work, attended some meeting and did a bit of sewing.
I had hope this week end to take Jack to the swimming pool but he isn't well so we are house bound.
So things didn't go according to plan, but with age I discovered that it is okay sometimes when things are not perfect (especially my house) because nodoby is perfect.

Next week Gloria Loughman is coming to our patchwork guild. A talk and workshop have been organised. Although was she does is amazing I am afraid it isn't for me but I will definitely go to the talk. I'll keep you posted!!!

Ok this isn't a give away! I have noticed that in the last few weeks a lot of you out there in blogland are having a "AccuQuilt GO! GIVEAWAY" i have entered a lot of them without much success.
It looks fantastic and seem to do everything and i NEED and WANT one of them.

So what do iIhave to do ( apart from buying on Ha, Ha!!!actually can't afford one). I would be the first one over in Ireland to get one. My quilting/ crafting friend would be sooooooooooooo jealous. So please can I get one?????

I have decided to concentrate on Christmas projects

1- make a quilt for my god child Ellen. It will be her first christmas so i want to make it a bit special

2- finish my pinky quilt

3- finish to clean my patchwork room

4- make some christmas decorations

5- can't wait for the secret santa christmas swap. I loved it last year.

My mum is coming at the end of september so i am hoping that she will help me with all my project!!!

Well i can't believe it is september. where did this summer go? i had so many things to do and well looking back at my july-august goals

1- piece my pinky-purply quilt don't really have a name for it SO I STARTED QUILTING ON THIS QUILT DOES THAT COUNT AS FINISHED?
2- find a name for my pinky-purply quilt!!! STILL LOOKING FOR INSPIRATION
3- think of Christmas present that i could make( i now it is way too early for that) WAY TOO EARLY FOR THAT
4-register for counselling course DECICED NOT TO GO AHEAD WITH IT THIS YEAR TOO MUCH ON
5-get my patio sorted- i don't want to post pictures i am too ashamed AH WELL IT IS AUTUMN NOW SO I DON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT IT UNTIL NEXT YEAR RIGHT????
6-clean- reorganise my sewing room ( will probably have to add this one to the sept-oct goals as well) OK THIS IS DEFINITELY TAKING MORE TIME THAN I EXPECTED
7-catch up on my BOM with Bunny hill WAS DOING WELL UNTIL I REALISED THAT WE ARE IN SEPTEMBER!!1
8-blog at least one a week DIDN'T DO TOO BAD I MANAGED TO BLOG EVERY TWO WEEKS!!

I know i could have done better but it was the summer and i just wanted to enjoy it!!!
Anyway I am recovering from surgery, nothing to worry about but still taking time!
Jack's surgery is scheduled for 12th october so i won't stop worrying until then!!!

Well no i haven't started on my july/august goals yet ( we are only mid august) but I have been sewing like a mad women.I made these great pencil holders for friends and friends of friends.... so far i made about 20! they are great for kids.

the playschool asked us for family pictures as they are doing the family tree this month.

We didn't have a recent picture of jack so i decided to take some. He wasn't happy about it so he gave me his bad boy look

Trying to keep up with my july-august goals here i am posting. My main problem is that i don't have a lot to say. My life is pretty quiet at the moment. hum actually it is always quiet. so really i don't think people would be interested in my pretty quiet life. So it got me thinking and i have realised that although i have a blog what i love the most is to check other people blogs. Let me tell you there are some pretty talented people in blogland. And i think that it may be the reason i don't blog that much (read never!):

1- i am way to busy checking other blogs

2- which remind me how useless i am

And there you have it a post! wow !!!!! Hope you enjoyed it. I am adding a picture because you lot always have pictures on your blog. Beware the picture has no relation to this post!!!

CGQC July- August goals

First A big thank you to kelly and co for all their hard work. One year on and the charming Girls Quilt club is going very strong. I have to say that i am really enjoying being part of this club. I may not have been a very active member recently but the new by-monthly goals will be more achievable . So for July- August:
1- piece my pinky-purply quilt don't really have a name for it
2- find a name for my pinky-purply quilt!!!
3- think of Christmas present that i could make( i now it is way too early for that)
4-register for counselling course
5-get my patio sorted- i don't want to post pictures i am too ashamed
6-clean- reorganise my sewing room ( will probably have to add this one to the sept-oct goals as well)
7-catch up on my BOM with Bunny hill
8-blog at least one a week

Well it may not look like much but don't think that i will have much time. Jack has still a lot of doctors appointments and is going for an operation in August.

hi there well i am back. kind of. i know it has been a while but life was really mad for a few months i'll explain later! my parents were over last week and we had a great time

Jack loved having my parents over and he's missing them loads. he keeps asking where they are. So hard to explain to a 21/2 year old that they live in france and cannot come every week!!! He also decided to use the camera and i think that we have a future photograph

He took this picture of mum and i think she looks pretty good except for the giant arm!!!!

I am hoping to get back on track with my sewing but first i will have to clean my patchwork room!!!

CGGQC April Project

Ok i am going to be very busy this april with work and family ... . well we are nearly half way trough april so i am definetely not going to have much time. Where does the time go Christmas was only yesterday.

Spring is nearly over and it will be soon summer. Well so far we haven't had a good spring we had snow again last week and the temperature aren't going up.

So let's hope it gets better soon.

For my April project i intend to make the irish chain blocks of my bunny tales BOM. And i also have to make 10 blocks for my dear jane quilt.

Cecile is the leader of the Dear Jane club and we meet once a month the next meeting is next friday so i need to get organised because it will soon be may.

Today we went to my on laws for lunch. We had a brilliant time and the food was lovely. Thanks Phil for cooking a great dinner.Jack decided to provide some entertainment. He must take after his father!!! Don't you love easter as you don't need an excuse to eat as much chocolate as you want. Note to Stephen ( my husband) remember to buy me an easter egg next year so that i don't have to share with jack's!!!

Well i made it home (france) and i haven,t had a minute yet. Excuse the typos but the french keyboard is a bit different ie the letters aren't placed the same zhich drives me mad. Jack and I are wrecked. He finally got another tooth one at the back and he hasn't been sleeping very well and of course me neither!!!
today we woke up to found more snow!!! i love it though. my mum hates it. But as i always say to her you live in the alps what do you expect!!!!

I manage to go to ikea and bought some children fabric. Don't know yet what i am going to do with it but i had to have it. can't wait to go back to ireland and my new sewing machine. i'll tell you all about it when we come back

It can't be nearly a month since i lasted posted on my blog!! oh my!
Well it will come at no surprise that i din't get a chance to finish my jan projects so that's what i will do in feb and i do hope that it will be done

I have been very busy with visitors and really enjoyed having my family over from France.
i will try to post some pictures soon. The house is empty without them! but i am going over in 5 weeks. just hope i get to do everything i wanted to do in February!!!

Well I have finally decided to join a "block of the month" group in the hope that it will motivate me to do something. I recall Michelle saying that she had 6 UFO's well I have 17 and still counting so this year I am going to finish what i started!!!

CGQC January project

Well this month I only have one project as i have a lot of visitors coming over the next three weeks and i really don't expect to do much. So i would like to finish a quilt that i started for my son Jack. it is made from a panel of cats. This will be his first quilt so i am looking forward to see his little face when he sees it!

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year. i am a bit early but i don't think that i will have time tomorrow to blog. I am invited at my in laws and i promised than i will make dessert. Little did i know that there would be 40 people. So i am going to slave in the kitchen all day!

I will be so tired that i probably won't be able to ring in the new year.

Christmas memories

Like everybody I have many christmas memories but I can think of two in particular.

The first one is of my mother who every year on christmas day gets so stressed that she ends up screaming at us. The funny thing is that she is so organised that she really doesn't need to be stressed and we all help out. The worst is that she is all annoyed with herself the next day for spoiling christmas for her and everybody!

My second memory is Christmas 2007. I was due on the 8th of December and was dreading give birth to a christmas baby! In the end i didn't. My pregnancy was terrible,I went into early labor at 26 weeks (september) but the doctors managed to stop it. Unfortunately 5 weeks later on the 11th of October my wee boy was born 9 weeks early. I am not going to go into details but he had a number of health problems. Many of times we didn't know if he was going to make it, never mind getting home. But he is a little fighter and was home with us for Christmas. He was so small. It was a magical !

Most of all I am looking forward to make many more christmas memories.

Flood Quilts and Blocks

Most of South and West Ireland have been flooded and many families have been forced out their house. My sewing machine is broken! i don't know if it is repairable but i don't hold much hope. I left it on the kitchen chair after coming back from the bee. Unfortunately wee jack noticed it and unfortunately pushed it from the chair. i didn't think of checking it as it was in its bag but yesterday when i sat down to finish my secret santa i noticed that the needle wouldn't go down! As it fell on its side the whole mechanisms has been pushed and as moved by half an inch. i could have cried. i intended to buy a new machine with a longer arm but i still wanted to keep this one. What machine do you use and would you recommend it? i would appreciate your advice!

A couple of weeks ago, I was a bit bored and decided to check out a few patchwork books on amazon. I didn't intend to buy anything( who am i kidding?!!) Well they arrived on friday, yes THEY. I went a bit mad. so i got one book

Then i had to get the next one

Well by now you would have guessed that i indeed got another one, but i ordered it ages ago. I had pre-ordered Jennifer Chiaverini lattest book A Quilter's Holiday and while i was at it i also ordered Sylvia's Bridal Sampler

I finished the book over the week end. I love it and can't wait for the next one! The good news is that I will definetily do something out of them books. Yeah Right!!!

Yes i know it has been a while since i last posted something on my blog. But we have been hit again with virus. Yes again. Not even two weeks after the tummy bug. This is turning out to be the worst winter ever. Last week i decided to redecorate our front porch so i dragged Stephen through the DIY store and picked some paint, rollers and brushes. I had grand plan for that little porch, I had a vision. So friday morning with jack at the creche I eagerly started enrolling stephen in the process. Now a bit of background information wouldn't go a miss here. Stephen is not a manual person at all. No really he isn't i am probably, well no i am much better than him. He hates anything to do with manual work. I managed to convince him that i needed his help, and as usual he agreed but wasn't really enthusiastic about it. After a while he said he wasn't feeling well and i just thought ( how terrible i feel now) that he was pretending to be sick. Within an hour he was in bed shivring and sweating and complaining of a sore throat. By saturday he begged me to call the doctor. He must have been very bad to make that request, well he was very bad. to cut to story short he has tonsilitis, pretty bad according to the doc. He can't swallow and he has problem breathing.
So what happen to my DIY well have a look

Doesn't look great does it. And the worst is that i got a bit carried away with the redecorating and stared painting the back of the front door too, and decided in the process to do the walls. And while i was at it to do the bathroom. I feel such a full because i started every room without finishing for obvious reasons.As this ever happen to you?

I don't know when that will be finish. I actually have to say that i lost motivation at this stage bu i can't let that door and the hall unfinished.

So i hope to post something soon to show the result. and hopefully get back to my sewing too!!!

Today i received my mini quilt from Esther and what a job she has done. I was quite overwhelmed by how perfect it is. I put it up straight away and took pictures to send to my friend Alison. Unfortunately they wouldn't go through but i was speaking to her and told her to come and see it as soon as she could! Later on when jack arrived home from the creche he noticed it straight away. How could he not!! Esther many thanks for this beautiful quilt.

I haven't been very good with my blog at the moment. I went away again on a trip to belfast with 18 fabricoholic ladies only to end up lying in the hotel bathroom for 24 hours with a tummy bug! needless to say it was hell. My hubby got the same treatment but was home. Unfortunately jack was sent home from the creche as he had high temperature!!
So we have been all sick with tummy bug and an hear infection. But the show must go on.

Well i am all done. I have really enjoyed making this mini quilt. My partner should received on friday or monday at the lattest. Hope she won't mind a bit of delay! According to her " I am not picky.... it would be nice to have something seasonal. I like to decorate for all major holidays"

Well i am just back from Bologna, Italy to visit my dear friend Lily! myself and Alison went over for the week end. and despite being wrecked from all the travelling and Alison missing her kids terribly we had a brilliant time and i can't wait to go back again.
